From Analyst to Mentor: My Growth Story at Acturis

Brad

I started working with Acturis in September 2021, initially as a Technical Support Analyst. At that time, the team was much smaller, and there was a growing demand for customer support in Canada. I transitioned from Power Broker to Acturis, which gave me the opportunity to help shape the customer support function and bring a client-focused approach to our processes.

What drew me to Acturis was the need for stability and reliability after the challenges of COVID-19. This opportunity came at the right time, and I jumped at it.

Career Growth and Progression

When I joined, things were still being ironed out, which allowed me to focus on the biggest gaps within the team. Over the years, my role evolved significantly—from Technical Support Analyst to Senior Technical Support Analyst. Today, I focus more on leadership, mentoring, and supporting the growth of my team. It’s not just about my personal development anymore; it’s about shaping a well-rounded team that can overcome challenges and deliver exceptional results.

What Helped Me Grow

Mentorship played a huge role in my progression. I received a lot of support, one-to-one training, and on-the-fly advice from mentors and unit leaders. Collaboration was key, and the company fostered a culture that encouraged both personal and professional growth. Development pathways and coaching helped me strengthen areas where I needed improvement, and that focus on growth made a big difference.

What I Value Most About Acturis

Acturis truly supports its people. The company wants its staff to succeed and advance, and it provides opportunities for growth—both structured and self-driven. There’s a strong emphasis on understanding the lasting impact we can make, not just within the company but for our clients as well. That sense of purpose is something I really value.

Achievements That Stand Out

One of the highlights of my career has been the autonomy Acturis gives while maintaining a collaborative culture. I’ve had the chance to pitch projects aimed at leaving a lasting impact and making things easier for new joiners. These projects involved a lot of communication, feedback, and suggestions, which helped me refine my ideas. Those experiences have become the foundation for future projects I’m working on.

Advice for Anyone Looking to Grow

The best advice I can give is to welcome feedback. Feedback is never personal—it’s meant to help you grow. Be eager to ask for it, receive it, and internalize it. That mindset will help you advance in any role, not just at Acturis.

Final Thoughts

My journey at Acturis has been about growth, collaboration, and making an impact. From starting as a Technical Support Analyst to becoming a Senior Analyst and mentor, I’ve experienced firsthand how Acturis invests in its people and creates an environment where you can thrive.
